Hi, where would y'all suggest for camping near the Lehigh. We don't want a place full of psychos shooting their guns off and doing doughnuts til two am, but we do plan on drinking beers, so we need a place that is tolerant, but not too tolerant.
Thanks.

Sorry nobody has replied.

I fear that we all live so close to the Lehigh that we never camnp near it.
(Ask us about camping at the Yough or Gauley, etc and we can help)

I would recommend the state parks, except for the alcohol.

Good luck!

There is a private campground, just outside of Jim Thorpe. Drive up West Broadway and go about 2 miles. Keep driving and look on the left side of the road. It's called Jim Thorpe Camp Ground. They should have a website. There is another campground further down the road called Mauch Chunk Lake campground. It is a State campground, so there are more rules about drinking. They may have room. We live in JT, so if you have any more questions, just give Neil a call. Good luck.

then I would go to either Mauch Chunk or Hickory Run State Parks.

Hickory Run is up near Whitehaven.

Hell yeah, I just checked that menu. That's man food central... Listen guys, I appreciate the help. My buddy's going thru a rough stretch, so I'm taking him camping, gonna learn him how to kayak (which should be funny, cause I'm more of a raft guide), and have a steak dinner. Your advice is much appreciated.
